BY NYASHA DUBE – Zvishavane based Dingindira Traditional Culture Group yesterday donated money, food stuffs and other essentials to an elderly woman and a boy living with disability in the mining town.
The beneficiaries are 80 year old Alice Ngwenya and 10 year old Kudakwashe Ncube. Gogo Ngwenya is the great grandmother to the boy.
Gogo Ngwenya who stays alone, could not hide her happiness and heartfelt gratitude as she received a food hamper with basics like mealie meal, cooking oil etc.
“I am really thankful for what you have done for me. It really means a lot,” said Gogo Ngwenya who was almost in tears.
Elina Ncube (50), the grandmother and caregiver to Kudakwashe also applauded the group for the gesture.
She appealed for help with a wheelchair for the boy and funds for his education as he has never been to school.
“Kuda’s mother passed away and I don’t know his father. I appeal to those who can help me with a wheelchair and money to take him to school.
She added that the boy can neither walk or crawl which makes it hard to care for him on her own.
Dingindira group expressed it’s commitment to helping as many people in need as they can in Zvishavane.
