Web4life recently held a workshop at Midlands State University (MSU) Zvishavane campus to empower young female students on small businesses to promote financial stability and women empowerment.

Through educating students about starting and running small business, Web4life is not only preparing them to be entrepreneurs but also addressing issues of sexual harassment.

During the workshop Tanyaradzwa Nyamande, a Web4life member said, “students should start from as little as selling sweets to empower yourself until you are financially strong to start a big business.”

The workshop organiser also stated that, “promoting a culture of entrepreneurship and financial awareness in schools does not only benefit young women but Also contributes to the growth of local economies.”

Another student  Michelle Masanga also advised female students on starting small businesses as she shared her testimonial.

“l am also one of the students who used to come to school without any pocket money but l  asked for a 5 dollar note from my female lecturer to start a business of selling sweets and l would return her money after making my first profit. l invested everything l had to start that business until it was fruitful and l started selling more things. l am now financially stable and l do not have to ask any money from anyone as l can afford everything despite being a final year student,” she said.

She advised students to stand their ground and not compromise their health for something they can get if they try to work for themselves and be independent.
