APPRECIATION POST- LOVELIETTA JACOB

So my name is Lovelietta Tatenda Jacob but on radio I’m known as LTJ. I started radio in 2018 at Central Radio with my favorite show being the Sports Central that I used to present on Sundays 1500 hrs- 1800hrs. I was transferred to Power FM in October 2019 and there I present normal radio shifts and sports shows as well. I studied my first degree in Media and Society Studies at MSU and my Masters in Media at MSU as well. I like sports, if I could say sports is my life, football to be specific. Well, everyone who knows me know that I’m a very passionate Chelsea supporter.

I grew up as a football and cricket fan which made it easier for me to be a sports caster. I only had to learn other sports analysis when I started radio. I once played netball back in high school so it became my third favorite sport on radio but now I am almost an all rounder sportscaster. I do football, cricket, netball, rugby, basketball, motogp, F1 ,tennis and athletics analysis. My sister Patricia Jacob who is a radio presenter and a football commentator at Radio Zimbabwe taught me radio since I was in high school. I always admired her doing soccer and cricket commentry which I grew to be a fan of. She is my idol when it comes to radio but I’m also a fan of Star FM’s KVG and Power FM’s Miss Rach who I used to listen to before I even started radio. I’m also a fan of one of the best female radio sports producer Ayishatu Zakaria from Ghana. I wish to grow to be an international sports caster one day promoting women in sports.

My favorite sports person would be Rudo Neshamba the mighty warrior, she has so much confidence and courage. I also like Tanya Muzinda as she is one of the most humble and well disciplined sports person. Outside radio I do voluntary work like helping victims of GBV, child abuse, promoting mental health issues which is something I plan taking on radio as well. I draw much lessons about sports from my favorite sports writer that is Rest Mutore from H-metro. He is my go to person when I need clarification and assistance regarding anything to do with sports.
